    20th Annual YMCA Golf Outing

    Chip in for Our Community

    The 20th Annual Christian County YMCA Golf Outing, 18-hole, 4-person scramble, is set for Friday, June 12th, 2026, at Lakeshore Golf Course in Taylorville. Early Bird Registration fee is $100 per golfer before May 30, 2026.  Regular registration fee is $125 per golfer.  Registration deadline is June 9, 2026.  Come out and have a great time with us while raising funds for youth programming. Proceeds from this event support the YMCA’s Financial Assistance program.

    Because of supporters like you, the Y is able to follow its policy of not denying services to anyone based on inability to pay!

     

    Schedule

    A generous lunch will be provided at 11:30 am, with the tee-off scheduled for 12:30 pm. Awards and dinner will begin at 4:30 pm.

    There are three different levels of sponsorship for the Annual Golf Outing.

The 104 ft. water slide and interactive play area follow the Family Swim Time hours, everything else included in the list above is open during normal Aquatic Center hours.

    Deck Supervisor (Part-time)

    Position Summary:

    Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, slide, and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and promotes safety in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Builds positive relationships with members and program participants through effective listening and verbal skills and creatively finds ways to connect them to one another and the Y community. 

      • Minimum age of 15
      • Certifications in basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration for Aquatics required
      • Child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date
      • Blood Borne Pathogens Training within 30 days of hire date
      • Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
      • Must demonstrate Deck Supervisor skills in accordance with YMCA standards

    Lifeguard (Part-time)

    Position Summary:

    Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas.     Before School/After School Counselor (Part-time)

    Position Summary:

    Under the direction of the Child Care Coordinator, the BS/AS Counselor is responsible for assisting in planning and implementing programs and activities for their group of students. The counselor will work as a collaborative team member with other counselors and support the Child Care Coordinator in creating a successful and engaging before and after school program.

      • Must be a high school graduate or at least 17 years of age.
      • Must be mobile and able to participate in a variety of activities.
      • Must love being with children.
      • Must have the ability to lead, guide, discipline when necessary, and supervise children of varying ages.

    NEW ATHLETIC CENTER: $545,000

    Our NEW ATHLETIC CENTER has become a dynamic hub of activity, providing a welcoming space for individuals of all ages and interests. With a new flooring surface, new bleachers, new state-of-the-art basketball hoops, and a flexible floor plan accommodating various sports, including basketball, volleyball, and pickleball it has fostered a sense of community, encouraged physical fitness, and offer opportunities for friendly competition. Additionally, the installation of new LED Message/scoreboards has enhanced the experience for players and spectators alike.

    Enhance Family Aquatic Center $700,000

    Our Family Aquatic Center has undergone a remarkable transformation, featuring a new HVAC system, updated lane lines, an ADA-compliant water lift, fresh coat of paint, and a new lane reel. By refreshing our facilities, we’re creating a space where families can come together, enjoy quality time, and make lasting memories while promoting accessibility and safety.

    Modernize Wellness Center $220,000

    Our updated wellness center is a gamechanger for our community. Featuring high quality equipment including treadmills, exercise bikes, ellipticals, free weight machines, and updated free weights, it is a focal point for personal fitness, well-being, and health. The installation of a new HVAC system ensured a comfortable workout environment year-round. The transformation empowered our members to achieve their fitness goals efficiently and comfortably, promoting a healthier, happier community.

    The YMCA will recognize all donors who contributed $2,500 or more in the 2023-2028 Capital Campaign. The Capital Campaign Donor Recognition Wall is to be constructed in Fall of 2024. Donors may also consider making a contribution “in memory” or “in honor” of a loved one or anonymously.

  • The 2026- $5,000 YMCA Calendar Raffle

     

     

    It is the YMCA’s goal to sell at least 200 calendar raffles with the first $250 winner being drawn at the 38th Annual Benefit Auction on Friday, November 6th at the Pillars Event Center.  There will be 66 winners pulled throughout the year from November 2026-October 2027.

    Each calendar will be sold for $50.00.  Sale of the Calendars will begin on April 15, 2026.  Calendars can be purchased by anyone 18 years of age or older or by a group of people.

  • Indoor Batting/Pitching Cage Rental Fees

    2 new Indoor Batting/Pitching Cages 

     

     

    Batter Up!  The Christian County YMCA now has 2 indoor batting cages in our mezzanine level that are ready for rental!    Until the end of December use the batting cages at half price. The YMCA thanks the US Bank Foundation.  The US Bank Foundation provided grant that was instrumental in the YMCA purchasing the batting cages.

    Rental Fee:

    –30 minutes individual batting cage rental:                   $10 for YMCA member & $15 for non-member.

    -1 hour individual batting cage rental:                            $15  for YMCA member & $20 for non-member.

    -Team batting cage rental (both cages) 1-hr: $30 for member & $40 for non-member. (Coach/manager that is booking must be a member to get the member rate)

    Coach/Parent must be present unless child is 14 years of age or older.

    Batting cage rental must be paid day of rental.  Unless a team is renting the cages for the month and the payment is due on last day of rental. There is no online booking at this time.

    M-Fri.                   5:00pm – 7:30pm

    Saturday            10:00am – 4:30pm

    Sunday               12:00pm – 4:30pm

    The YMCA has 2 buckets of baseballs  2 buckets of softballs along with 2 batting T-‘s and an L-Screen and Flat Screen.  The YMCA also has 2 home plate turfs and 2 pitching turfs.  If you need more equipment, please make sure to bring your own equipment!

    YMCA Endowment Fund

         As of March 18, 2026, the Fund has $112,300.

     

    Become a member of the Heritage Club by making a $2,000 donation to the YMCA Endowment Fund. 

     

    Our YMCA is built on tradition and values and has been a cornerstone member of the community for many years. It is community based, professionally managed and able to meet the changing conditions of the future. Every day, the YMCA pro­motes the healthy development of children, builds behavior in teens, and shares core values with adults, families, and seniors of caring, hon­esty, respect, and responsibility.

    Imagine the YMCA a generation from now. What might the YMCA accomplish if we all show our support today? What other investments would yield such a great return?
    Your endowment gift helps make our community a safe and healthy place for youth, teens, adults, seniors and families. What you do today will make a lasting difference to the people involved with the YMCA tomorrow.

    The purpose of the Heritage Club is to encourage thoughtful gifts as a primary means of building a strong Endowment Fund capable of providing lasting support for the YMCA’s mission to continue its service for generations.

    Membership in the Heritage Club requires a $2,000 commitment which now, or in the future, will add to the YMCA’ s Endowment Fund. In the case of a will or other deferred gift, the amount need not be revealed, but if one chooses to do so, it will aid our long-range planning.

    There are variety of current and future opportunities to qualify for a Heritage club membership and or contribute to the Endowment Fund.

    • Gifts in a will or living trust may be personal property, real estate, designating the YMCA for a percentage of the estate
      or a specified amount.
    • Gifts of life insurance may name the YMCA as owner or beneficiary of the policy.
    • A gift of appreciated securities, property or cash.
    • gift of Pension Plan, IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or another qualified retirement plan with the YMCA designated as a beneficiary or a portion of funds remaining at death.
    • Required minimum distributions, (RMDs) and/ or qualified charitable distribution (QCDs) from your IRA are an excellent way to save taxes & gift directly to your YMCA.
    • There are some gifts that provide a lifetime of income and a future gift to the YMCA.

    Because of your interest and support of the YMCA, you are invited to join the YMCA Heritage Club. This is not an appeal for funds now, but a request that you include the YMCA in your long-range plans. Of course, in some si­tuations, gifts to our Endowment Fund might be more short term in order to re­ceive immediate favorable tax treatment.

    Front Desk/Member Service (Part-time)

    Position Summary:

    The Member Services staff, as part of the Membership Service Team, will deliver professional customer service, relationship-building, and sales skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. The incumbent will also provide comprehensive information regarding Christian County YMCA memberships, programs, activities, special events, and more. They will assist with attracting and retaining members, including collecting and processing transactions and information for members, participants, and guests. Additionally, the incumbent will embody the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of their work.

      • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
      • Ability to actively listen
      • Self-starter with the capacity to manage multiple tasks under limited supervision, work well in a team, and maintain a strong attention to detail
      • Experience with and knowledge of computers
      • A positive, friendly, and professional attitude
      • Proficiency in handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions accurately
      • A willingness to commit to the mission of the YMCA

    The family swim time schedule thru the winter season will be as follows:

    • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday:  4:00 – 7:30 pm
    • Saturday:  11:00 – 4:30 pm
    • Sunday:  12:00 – 4:30pm

    Please remember that all approved floatation suits or devices must have a US Coast Guard Approved Seal on them.

    *Call ahead on school’s out days for open family swim pool hours as the hours may vary.
