CHRISTIAN COUNTY YMCA

Land Fitness / Group Exercise classes are offered continuously throughout the year with only a break for Christmas holiday.

Each class runs for 8 weeks long, unless stated otherwise.

 

Body Fit


Basic stepping, just like walking up and down stairs, is at the heart of BODY FIT – a full-body cardio workout to really tone your entire body.  In a BODY FIT workout you can expect a mixture of upbeat, rhythmic stepping, with squat and lunge patterns to work the legs.  Combine this with upper body movements and weight exercises, and the result is a fun, uplifting, full-body workout!  Our bubbly and approachable instructor Shelley coaches you through the workout and injects a whole lot of fun and personality along the way.

Les Mills BodyPump


BODYPUMP is a barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast.  Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout.  It will burn up to 500 calories or more.  Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own!  Participants leave the class feeling challenged and motivated.

Body Conditioning


BODY CONDITIONING  is a high-energy fitness class with moves that cater for total beginners to total addicts.  We combine athletic movements like running, lunging and jumping with strength exercises such as push-ups and squats.  Veteran fitness instructors will pump out energizing tunes and lead you through the workout – challenging your limits in a good way, burning up lots of calories and leaving you with a sense of achievement.

Adult Stretch


This class will move your entire body through a series of seated and standing poses to safely perform a variety of exercises. By focusing on all major muscle groups, participants will gain increased flexibility, balance and range of motion.  Sedentary and active individuals of all skill levels are welcome as instructor Jessica guides and encourages the class to work through the various exercises.

Silver Sneakers


The Christian County YMCA is a proud participant of the Healthways Silver Sneaker Program! This comprehensive fitness program addresses the needs of Medicare (65+) population. Silver Sneaker is a fitness program for seniors that’s included with many Medicare Advantage plans.  Silver Sneakers helps millions of people on Medicare defy the odds and shatter stereotypes.

This class moves the body through a series of standing and seated poses increasing core strength in order to perform a variety of postures, increase flexibility, improve balance & increase range of motion. This class welcomes all skill levels! Breathing exercises will also be introduced to promote relaxation and mental clarity.
