Nursery

Members holding active Family Memberships may utilize free child care services for children age newborn to six years.  Non-members may use this service for $2 per hour per child. 

 

Monday – Friday          9:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

Monday – Thursday     4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Saturday                       9:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

After School Program

The primary purpose of this program is to provide a safe and happy place for your child while you are at work or attending school.  Our school-age child care program concentrates on promoting the YMCA character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. 

 

The YMCA bus will pick up children ages 5 – 12 at their respective schools and transport them to the YMCA, where they will engage in structured activities.  This program is available until 6:00 p.m. 

 

All After School Program fees must be paid by the end of each week.  Please inform the YMCA of the days your child will need to be riding the bus by calling 287-7271. 

 

Fees are as follows:

 

On days of regular school dismissal:                                               

YMCA Members          $4.75/Day

Prospective Members   $9.50/Day

 

Early dismissal days:            

YMCA Members          $6.00/Day

Prospective Members   $12.00/Day

 

On days of 11:45 a.m. dismissal or inclement weather:

(Lunch is included on these days.)

YMCA Members          $8.00/Day

Prospective Members   $16.00/Day

School’s Out Program

During holidays and/or institute days, the YMCA will provide a structured child care program from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Kids ages 5 - 12 are welcome to participate.  The YMCA will be closed on major holidays (Christmas, New Years, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day), and child care will not be available on those days.

 

During the school’s out days, parents are responsible for packing a lunch for their child as well as a swimsuit and towel.

Guidelines for Participants in YMCA Child Care Programs

  • A responsible person must accompany your child into the site and sign them in each morning and sign them out each evening. 
  • No child is allowed to leave the site with an unauthorized person.  All authorized persons must be listed on the registration form, or we must have written confirmation prior to pick-up time.
  • If you are late picking your child up, a late charge will be assessed of $5.00 per 15-minute interval after 6:00 p.m.  If three late pickups occur, your child may be dismissed for the program.
  • Children in the program will keep his/her hands to themselves.  No kicking, fighting, hitting, punching, biting, spitting or name calling will be tolerated.
  • Stealing or the use of profanity will not be tolerated.
  • Children must have permission to use the restroom
  • Children must show respect for themselves and for others.
  • School rules supersede YMCA After School rules when applicable.
  • Please do not send a sick child to a YMCA Child Care program.  If your child develops symptoms while in the custody of YMCA care, we will notify you right away.  If the situation warrants, we will contact emergency personnel as well.
  • Only site facilitators may dispense prescription medication, and only if in its original container.  An “Authorization to Administer Medication” form must be completed and signed and will be held in the child’s file.

 

The safety and well-being of your child is our top priority.  We do not wish to dismiss any child from the program, but may do so if the following occurs:

  • Rules and regulations at the site concerning the safety of children are not followed;
  • Three late charges have occurred;
  • The third discipline offense has been issued;
  • The payments due are not kept current; and/or
  • Any action by a child seriously endangers him/herself, other children or staff.
